Dermal & Lip Enhancements

ADDS VOLUME, LIFTS & ENHANCES FACIAL FEATURES

Dermal enhancements are used to treat, facial volume loss, facial folds, lines & wrinkles, depressed scars, lip volume and shape as well as tear trough hollows.

How Do These Dermal Enhancements Work?

The process involves a consult with a Nurses or Doctor to assess the areas of concern and develop a personalised plan just for you. It may or may not involve a script for a controlled product to add volume and hydration to the desired area. Should the consult involve a controlled product, after the procedure, the product binds with the water in your skin and provides natural volume to smooth wrinkles. The product also blends with adjoining tissues and allows other nutritive elements, like oxygen, glucose and hormones, to pass between fragments of the product. The result is instantly fuller, revitalised and plumper skin. The process is performed by one if our a registered nurse or a doctors and takes about 30 minutes after an initial consult and all treatment options are provided, with your skin concern and goals paramount to the consult. Maintenance treatments are required every 6-12 months.

Benefits of Dermal Enhancements

Dermal enhancements can help revitalise your appearance, smoothing out wrinkles and giving your face a fresh and energetic look. For wrinkle or facial contouring treatments, such as cheek enhancement, most patients choose to have a follow-up treatment 6-12 months after the initial treatment. After a lip enhancement procedure, a follow-up appointment is usually required about 6 months later. It is always the patient’s choice whether to continue or change the combination of treatments.

Pre + Post Treatment Care

Pre Treatment

  • The most important rule when doing a course of laser hair removal sessions is to avoid any kind of sun exposure, use of self-tanners (including spray tans), and solariums. These can all greatly affect laser treatment, as laser is attracted to dark pigment and is unable to decipher between the pigment in dark hair and tanned/darker skin. To reduce any risk of skin burning or pigmenting due to incorrect preparation, your clinician must be aware if you have had recent UV exposure or are wearing fake tan. An SPF30 or greater sunscreen must be used daily and frequently to protect the treated area throughout the course of treatments.
  • As waxing, plucking and threading temporarily remove the hair from the follicle before it grows back, it is imperative to not pursue such methods for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to laser hair removal in the treatment area. If there is no hair in the follicle at the time of treatment, then the laser is unable to successfully target and destroy growth. The use of shaving or depilatory creams on the treatment area is not a problem, as they do not remove the hair from the follicle.
  • It is recommended only to remove surface hair by shaving, depilatory creams, or clippering the treated areas during the course of treatment.
  • Shave the area to be treated 24 hours prior to your treatment; this will promote a stronger current in the laser which will mean better results.
  • Avoid partaking in any activities prior to coming in for treatment that will make you hot and sweaty, such as exercising or going to spas and saunas.
