How do they work do you ask?

A laser is a single-wavelength (source of high-energy light, which can be accurately focused to transmit light on to a very small area to treat hair removal, pigmentation, blemishes, acne, fine lines, wrinkles, tattoos and vein removal. They are a non invasive alternative to plastic surgery and can take years away from your face and improve a number of skin concerns

There are 2 types of cosmetic lasers –

Ablative – Theses lasers work by vaporizing skin concerns on the surface on the skin such as fine lines, acne scarring, blemishes, sun damage and hair removal.

Non-Ablative – They work by penetrating deep into the layers of the skin and aid in the removal of pigmentation, freckles, sun damage and broken capillaries.

What kind of lasers do the Australian Laser and Skin clinic use and what do they do?

Medical Grade 4 Alexandrite Laser – Used for laser hair removal treatment for those with fair to mid tones skin with medium to coarse dark hair.

Medical IPL – Primarily used for Skin Rejuvenation (called Photo Rejuvenation) to remove pigmentation, can also be used hair removal for those with darker skin tones.

Q-Switched Laser – Used for laser tattoo removal. It works best on black, red and other darker coloured tattoos.

LLLT (Low Level Laser Therapy) – This fantastic laser that uses a gentle cold laser to treat a number of concerns such as cold sores, burns, open wounds, scarring, Keloid scars, Hypertrophic Scars, stretch marks, eczema, psoriasis and acne to name a few! The cold laser works by regenerating the damaged tissues beneath the skin and results can be seen is as little as one session, a course of treatments is generally required!
