Dehydrated Skin

Dry, flaky skin occurs when skin doesn’t retain sufficient moisture. This can happen as a result of frequent bathing, use of harsh soaps, aging, or certain medical conditions. And for those in colder climates, it can stem from cold, dry winter air.

Dry Skin can also be due to build up of dead skin cells. Normally skin cells regenerate every 28 to 30 days. The new skin cells push the dead skin cells to the top layer of the skin. The dead skin cells fall off from the outer layer. However, if there is excess of dead skin cell, they may start accumulating on face giving a dry facial look.
